Christmas Gathering at KSI Cabin 2025

This gathering is exclusively for OSIF members who have joined at least three OSI club sessions this semester.

🏡 Accommodation
We have space for 24 people (ainming for 12 female beds, 12 male beds). Due to limited capacity, spots are first-come, first-served; once full, we’ll run a waiting list. We may be able to open a few extra spots (to be confirmed).

⌂ Weekend Activities
Start your days with easy adventures in Nordmarka - cross-country skiing if conditions allow, or a walk/run to gems like Appelsinhaugen, Kikut, and other hidden spots. Afterward: sauna, breathwork, singing, dancing, and cozy vibes. Throughout the weekend we’ll bake, cook, play games, run a quiz - and maybe do a bit of wood-chopping. If winter arrives in time, brave an ice bath before warming up in the sauna!

🤗Saturday Evening Celebration
The highlight is Saturday’s traditional Christmas celebration. We’ll gather for a festive meal with both classic dishes and solid vegetarian/vegan options. The evening continues with holiday traditions like dancing around the Christmas tree and singing. Dress code is semi-formal-time to bring warm, festive energy!

Practical Details
Cost: 200 NOK. This includes all meals and accommodation. 
Bedding: Bring a sleeping bag or your own bedding (sheet, duvet cover, pillowcase).

Getting There
The cabin is accessible via public transport: take the metro to Frognerseteren, followed by a scenic 5km walk or bike ride on a gravel road. An alternative route is available from Hammeren. If you’re aiming for dinner, the 16:58 metro from Majorstuen or a 16:30 departure on foot from Sognsvann both line up well - though you’re welcome to arrive later too..

Flexible Participation
Can't make it for the entire weekend? You're more than welcome to join us just for Saturday's festivities. The cabin's warmth and holiday spirit will be waiting for you whenever you arrive.

Approximate Plan

Friday

• 16:30 Optional: meet at Sognsvann for a nice walk to the cabin.

• 16:58 Metro from Majorstuen stadion to Frognerseteren. Bring skis if there’s snow, otherwise walk (≈5 km / ~1 hour).

• Arrive and settle in at the cabin.

• ~18:30 Shared dinner.

• After: gentle landing, sauna, live music, games, maybe a quiz.

Saturday

• Porridge breakfast.

• Day adventure: ski or hike/run in the area (options like Kikut/Appelsinhaugen if conditions allow).

• Back at the cabin: cooking, wood chopping, breathwork.

• ~18:30 Dinner.

• Evening: dancing around the Christmas tree, sauna, a big bonfire, night walk, good times.
  If winter shows up in time: optional ice bath.

Sunday

• Tidy-up: cleaning, washing, packing.

• ~12:00 Departure. Return by ski/hike to Sognsvann or back to Frognerseteren (weather/legs decide).
